Birthed out of the COVID quarantine, JFlo Fibers is the product of a mother’s attempt to apply science, art, and environmental safety into a fun after-school project for my teenage sons who were remote learning.

Following wonderful YouTube channels like ChemKnits, we learned with quick tutorials how to turn an old crockpot into a food-safe chemistry lab for our creations. Stirring in citric acid and combinations of food-coloring and Kool-aid packets, we experimented and created all of the yarns you see on this site.

My outside passion for lamp working at Third Degree Glass Factory in St. Louis, MO meshed with our yarn adventures, as we turned my hand-made glass beads into decorative stitch markers, buttons, and ornaments for my yarn projects.

No yarn site would be complete without a way to keep all your projects together. For over 20 years, my hobby of quilting has now come full-circle as I develop project bags for all seasons. They are double-lined zipper bags with thick interfacing that creates sturdy, stand-alone bags.
